SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – An Upper Peninsula university is set to welcome in spring on Monday with a unique tradition.
For the 51st year, Laker Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie will celebrate spring with the Annual Burning of The Snowman.

The 12 foot snowman, made of a wire frame, paper mâché, and other recycled paper, will be set ablaze on Monday at 5: 30 p.m. on campus.
The event is open to the public and followed by a reception.
This year’s theme is “letting go of negativity.”
