LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The 2023 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament will start on Wednesday in Chicago at the United Center. Both Michigan State University won’t play until Friday as the #4 seed while #8 Michigan opens up on Thursday against #9 Rutgers.

This is the 10th straight first round by for Michigan and if they win on Thursday they will face #1 seed Purdue on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Michigan is 17-14 overall and finished at 11-9 in the Big Ten. With 11 wins, it is the eight straight year with 10-plus wins. In the Big Ten Tournament in Chicago, Michigan is 9-9 and has a 29-21 record when playing at the United Center. The Wolverines have won Big Ten Tournament Championships in 2017 and 2018.

MSU will play on Friday about 2:30 p.m. against the winner between #5 Iowa and the #12 Wisconsin and #13 Ohio State winner. They finished the 19-11 on the year and were 11-8 in the Big Ten. MSU has won Big Ten Tournament Championships in 1999, 2000, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2019.

The games will be played on the Big Ten Network/FOX and on CBS Paramount Plus.
