EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan State University Police and Public Safety held a press conference at 11 p.m. on Monday night and detailed as much information as they could regarding a shooting on campus at multiple locations that sent five victims to the hospital and left the suspect still at large.

MSU Police Interim Deputy Chief Chris Rozman spoke to the press and said they are trying to be as transparent as they can, but did not take questions and did not confirm any deaths.

“It started 8:18 p.m. at Berkey Hall and we received multiple 911 calls,” Rozman said. “Numerous officers responded and were on scene within minutes. The incident moved to the Union Building where there was a report of another shooting.”

Rozman continued, “The suspect – and we believe there is one – was last seen leaving the MSU Union on foot. We are receiving surveillance footage that we will be releasing.”

Another shooting was IM East.

The suspect is described as a short, Black male who is wearing red shoes, a jean jacket, and ball cap.

Rozman said people on and near campus will remain sheltered in place and all MSU events will be cancelled for the next 48 hours.

In addition, Rozman empathized with parents but pleaded with them not to come to campus.

Another press conference is scheduled for midnight.
