DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Heading into February of the G-League, the Motor City Cruise are 5-9 overall. January was a great month for the Cruise as they won four games with three coming in one week.

The three-game win streak started on January 23 with a 134-130 win over the Wisconsin Herd and then two days later taking the second meeting, 120-102. On Friday, January 27, the Cruise held off the College Park Skyhawks, 124-120, in College Park, Ga., for their third win in a row. Their three-game win streak came to an end on January 29 in the second meeting vs. the Skyhawks, 123-107.

The first win of the month came on January 16, 106-93, over the Ontario Clippers in Canada. Motor City currently sits in 12th place out of 15 teams and is ahead of the Grand Rapid Gold by one game who are in last place at 4-11.

The Cruise are averaging 111.4 points per game overall and 109.8 points per game on the road. Devontae Cacok leads the team averaging 19.8 points per game. He has two years in the G-League going undrafted from North Carolina-Wilmington. Seton Hall’s Jared Rhoden is second on the team in scoring at 16.0 points per game and is rookie.

With 18 games left in in February and March, the Cruise will have a chance to move up in the standings improving on their strong January.
