ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – With two Silver Medals at the 2023 Big Ten Championships, Michigan is in third place after day one of competition. Michigan won second place in the 200-yard Medley Relay and the 800-yard Freestyle Relay. Along with that, the Wolverines had two NCAA ‘A’ qualifying times.

Casey Chung, Letitia Sim, Natalie Kan, and Lindsay Flynn came in second in the 200-yard Medley Relay at 1:35.96. That time earned them a NCAA ‘A’ cut time. They were the sixth seed coming into the championships and finished just ahead of Indiana.

Megan Glass, Katie Crom, Riley Francis and Christey Liang finished the 800-yard Freestyle Relay in second place with a time of 7:00.78. They were in sixth place after the first two legs of the race and battled back for the silver medal. Their time was also a NCAA ‘A’ qualifying time.

Michigan now has 112 points and is just six off of Indiana’s lead and four behind Ohio State heading into day two in Ann Arbor.
