ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Hunter Dickinson forced overtime with a buzz-beating shot in regulation as Michigan won their 11th Big Ten game, 87-79, over Wisconsin. Dickinson hit a three-pointer as time expired in regulation to tie the game at 68. Michigan then outscored Wisconsin, 19-11, in overtime to move to 17-12 on the year.

“That was an amazing shot that he made,” said Michigan head coach Juwan Howard. “We need those We were owed that. We have been through a lot of pain down the stretch and from earlier in the season that we have lost in some of those close ones. It was nice for our guys to dug down deep and stay the course and get this really hard-fought victory today.”
Dickison recorded a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds with four assists. Kobe Bufkin led the team with 28 points and eight rebounds as Dug McDaniel added a career-high 20 points. Michigan shot 49 percent making seven three-pointers. Wisconsin finished shooting 42 percent and went 8-of-23 from the arc.
Michigan was sparked in overtime by Bufkin after the game was tied 75 as he converted an and-one to take the lead by one, 76-75. That led to a 10-0 run for an 83-75 lead with 25 seconds left in the game. That momentum led to the eight-point win, 87-79.
Wisconsin had an eight-point lead in the first eight minutes of the first half, 17-9, and still had a four-point lead, 20-16, at 8:10. UM then put together a run in the final eight minutes outscoring the Badgers, 19-4, for an 11-point lead, 35-24. They took an eight-point lead into the half, 35-27.
McDaniel made it a 10-point lead, 42-32, with 17:29 left in the game and kept their lead for most of the first 10 minutes. Wisconsin tied the game at 57 with 5:34 to go and retook the lead, 64-61, with 1:18 left. They then hit two free throws with seven seconds left for a three-point lead, 68-65, before Dickinson hit the game-tying three-pointer to send it to overtime.
Michigan travels to Illinois on March 2 for a 6:00 p.m. game on ESPN.
