HILLSDALE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Hillsdale College is putting themselves on the NCAA Division II men’s basketball map moving into the top 10. In the latest NABC Poll, Hillsdale gained two spots in the poll jumping to no. 9 in the 269 points. Along with that honor, Peter Kalthoff received his second G-MAC Player of the Week honor.
Hillsdale has been ranked as high as no. 5 in the nation starting off 12-0 on the year. They currently are 10-0 at home and have won their last three games and are 12-2 in the G-MAC. They are in first place a game and half ahead of Walsh University with six games left in the season. Hillsdale is the only Michigan team ranked in the top 25 as Ferris State is receiving votes (3).

Kalthoff averaged 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and shot 53 percent in two wins last week over Cedarville and Northwood. He shot 60 percent in the win vs. Cedarville scoring 16 points with nine rebounds. In the win over Northwood he added 23 points scoring 15 in the second half.
Hillsdale is trying to capture their third G-MAC title in four years and their third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. They host Ashland University on Thursday who is third in the conference at 9-4.
