A tweet just before noon yesterday from the MSU Police and Public Safety confirmed that the student had been discharged leaving four wounded students still in the hospital.

Of the students still in the hospital, 1 student is in fair condition, 2 students are in serious (but stable) condition, and 1 student remains in critical condition according to MSU Police and Public Safety.

Friends and family have confirmed online the names of the students still in Sparrow as Guadalupe Huapilla-Perez, John Hao, and Nathan Statly.

An older sister of Guadalupe Huapilla-Perez revealed that while her younger sister had improved, she suffered wounds to five major organs.

“Unfortunately, her spleen was the organ that received the immediate impact and had to be removed,” Selena Huapilla-Perez added, “Because of the trauma her organs received during the shooting followed by the trauma of a major surgery like the one she went through, doctors tell us her organs will take some time before they can perform their functions again.

In a GoFundMe post from a supporter of Hao, he explained how the Spartan’s condition has improved but there is a “long path ahead,” as he suffered the impact of a bullet that struck and severed his spinal cord leaving him paralyzed from the chest down.

“John’s condition is improving and he was recently moved from critical condition to serious, but stable condition. As every day passes, his future needs are becoming more clear. The cost of John’s future will be high,” GoFundMe Organizer Argent Qian.

One of Statly’s older brothers, Josh, revealed in a recent GoFundMe post that his brother is still in critical condition.

“Nate was unfortunately one of the victims of the recent shooting on MSU’s campus. Miraculously, Nate is still with us, but has been critical condition in the hospital since last Monday. Doctors have informed us that his path to recovery will be a long and difficult one,” Josh Statly said in a GoFundMe post.

On the evening Feb. 13, shooter Anthony McRae entered MSU’s campus killing students in Berkey Hall and the Student Union – which are now closed for the remainder of the semester.  The shooting killed three students: Arielle Anderson, Alexandria Verner, and Brian Fraser.

MSU has announced they will be covering hospital expenses and funeral costs for the students involved in the shooting.
