DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Antoine Davis continued his scoring spree with 35 points as the University of Detroit Mercy upset Cleveland State, 85-67. CSU is one game out of first place now at 9-4 after falling to UDM.
Davis went 10-of-19 from the floor with three three-pointers and three assists. Gerald Liddell added 17 points and eight rebounds. Arashma Parks led the team with eight rebounds.

UDM forced 20 CSU turnovers with 12 steals and had more rebounds, 35-32. CSU shot 46 percent but was just 5-of-16 from the arc as UDM made 50 percent from the floor making 73 percent from the three-point line.
It was a close first half as UDM had a five-point lead at the half, 43-38. UDM went up by seven, 14-7, at 13:59 on two Davis free throws. Damez Anderson hit a three-pointer at 9:51 to push the lead to nine points, 24-15. TJ Moss then nailed a three-pointer with 5:47 left for a 10-point lead, 32-22. Davis once again made two free throws at 3:14 moving it to an 11-point lead, 40-29. CSU ended the final three minutes on a 9-3 run to come within five.
CSU had the lead down to three, 47-44, just five minutes into the second half. By 11:12, UDM only had a one-point lead, 54-53, and was just four points, 62-58, with 7:43 to go. In the next three minutes, UDM went on a 13-2 run for a 15-point lead, 75-60, on a four-point play by Davis. Liddell made it an 18-point lead on a layup with 2:46 left, 81-63. UDM went on to win, 85-67, to move to 5-8 in Horizon League play.
UDM will host Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Calihan Hall.
