GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Grand Rapids will soon host the newly finished industrial building that will house an expanding Michigan company that sells and services semi-trailers.
Upon completion of the more than 105,000 square foot building in Byron Township, the Trailer Equipment Inc. and Trailer Xpress Inc. will move in to begin business. At the moment, Trailers Equipment Inc. has three locations throughout the state, including two in the Grand Rapids area and one in metro-Detroit according to MLIVE.

The new location will be the biggest property the company has by more than 50,000 square feet of space, and the newest location will have new features such as indoor drive-up service and a drive-thru truck wash that will also be available to semi-trailer drivers as well.
“The quick service, we have four bays,” Chief Financial Officer Scott Westers said. “It’s really our check-in process, whether it’s a rental return or something being brought in for service, it’s all going to be checked in those four lanes. We’re really excited about having the opportunity to have every trailer professionally checked out.”
After the Byron Township Planning Commission approved the project in fall of 2021, the work on the new site is nearly complete. According to Westers, the company has a goal to move into the building by the start of February.
Overall the company employs 107 people, but is expecting to hire nearly 20 more, most of them will likely be mechanics.
“Our goal is to have seven new locations in the next 10 years,” Westers said. “It all starts with this building. We’re transforming from just West Michigan to outside of West Michigan.”
