DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Breaking an eight game losing streak with two straight wins, Oakland University’s Jalen Moore has earned the Nike Horizon League Player of the Week honors for men’s basketball. He helped the Grizzlies to wins over both Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Wisconsin-Green Bay in Athletics Center O’rena.

Moore averaged 21 points, 6.5 assist, and 2.0 steals per game in the two wins. He started with 17 points and eight assists in the 83-61 win over Milwaukee on Thursday to break the eight-game losing streak. Following that win, he posted 25 points going 13-of-15 from the free throw line with five assists as the Grizzlies made it two wins in a row, 81-65, over Green Bay. Overall for the week, he was 22-of-27 from the free throw line.
Leading the Horizon League in assists at 6.1 per game which is 10th best in the NCAA, he has 73 overall assists for 31st in the nation. Oakland is currently 4-11 overall but is 2-2 in the Horizon League.
