GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A dozen large eggs at grocery stores across Michigan are costing more than five dollars.

Data collected by IRI Worldwide, a global technology, analytics, and data provider, show that the price of refrigerated eggs jumped 68.2% from November 2021 to November 2022.

The price hikes are being blamed on the bird flu and higher demand over the holiday season for eggs. Egg production is down around four-percent compared to November 2021.
