FENNVILLE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The family of Allegan county murder victims Cindy Clouse and her two daughters, 10-year-old Mackenzie Hagger and 13-year-old Autumn Hagger, has been started to help pay for the expenses of their funeral next week.

The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office says that Cindy and her children were killed on Saturday, January 7th by her boyfriend Kyle Hagger while she was in the process of packing up to leave. After killing Cindy and the girls, Hagger turned the gun on himself.

The family was found when a man went to the house to do a welfare check on the family. After they didn’t answer the door, he looked through the window and found his niece laying on a bedroom floor.

Allegan County Sheriff Frank Baker told News Channel 3. “My understanding is she (Clouse) reached out to a co-worker or friend to advise them she was looking to leave the relationship and to get her and the children out.”

Cindy’s sister Amy told the Detroit News that Hagger was “controlling,” but that no one thought he’d commit such an act. “We never expected him to be capable of hurting (Clouse) or the girls. … There was a side to him we didn’t know. If we did know, we would have helped her leave.”

Amy set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to pay for the funeral and said on the website, “I’m Cindy’s older sister and best friend, her babies were my babies as they were to all the rest of our close family. Yesterday all three of them were tragically taken away from us. We are asking for help to lay these beautiful angels to rest. They deserved the world but we can’t give them that. But with help we can say goodbye the right way.”

The obituary for Cindy says, “Cindy was a shining light, a great mom to her daughters Autumn and Mackenzie. She was the cool aunt, always dancing and making videos with her girls. Cindy worked at Appleton North Living Center in Holland, Michigan. She fell in love with the people she served. Cindy loved with her whole heart and would help anyone in need. She loved her chickens, two goats, pig and dogs. Known as the goofball in the family everyone looked forward to seeing Cindy and the girls pull up in the driveway. Her sudden passing has left her family and friends heartbroken; life will never be the same.

Cindy’s brother Andy made a statement to Fox 17 about the support from the community. He said, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Cindy, Autumn, and Makenzie. Cindy was a loving mother who cared deeply for her family. Autumn wanted to be a dermatologist, Mackenzie wanted a big family. In an awful moment they were violently taken from this world, and the ripples of pain and anguish have reverberated through their family and friends. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and strangers.”

The public viewing for family will be on Sunday, January 15th at the Fennville High School from 1 to 5 pm and the service will be held at the high school the following day. The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the shooting.
