EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Looking to revamp the 2022 season, Michigan State University football coach Mel Tucker has added 24 players to the 2023 class for the December early signing day. Tucker will bring in nine portal transfers with 15 high school players.
“I am really excited about this class. This was a total team effort as everyone in our organization helped to secure this class,” says Tucker. “This is a national class that features players from nine different states and 12 states with the transfers. We also have three of the top 10 players from that State of Michigan in this class and nine four-star players.”

The nine transfers come from all over the country. Four will help the defense in Tunmise Adeleye from Texas A&M (defensive line), Liberty’s Dre Butler (defensive line), Florida State’s Jarrett Jackson (defensive line), and Wisconsin’s Semar Melvin (defensive back). Coming to help the offense is Keyshawn Blackstock (Coffeyville CC) as a lineman, running back Nathan Carter (Connecticut), tight ends Ademola Faleye (Norfolk State) and Tyneil Hopper (Boise State), and kicker Jonathan Kim (North Carolina).
The three four-star players from Michigan coming to East Lansing are Detroit Cass Technical’s Jalen Thompson at defensive line, Dexter’s Brennan Paracheck (tight end), and Clarkston’s Cole Dellinger (linebacker).
Bai Jobe, from Community Christian School in Norman, Okla., is the top recruit in the class according to 247Sports as the 82nd top player in the nation and 14th overall edge.
MSU went 5-7 this year and 3-6 in the Big Ten.
