ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Arguably the top running back in the nation, Michigan’s Blake Courm, is up for two major awards and was named the Big Ten’s Ameche-Dayne Running Back of the Year. He is has also been named a finalist for both the Walter Camp Award and Doak Walker Award.

The Walter Camp Player of the Year finalist were named on Wednesday afternoon with five players making it as Corum is the only running back on the list. Also making it is Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, TCU’s Max Duggan, Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker, and USC’s Caleb Williams. Corum is the fourth Wolverine to be a finalist as Jabrill Peppers was in 2016 and then Desmond Howard (1991) and Charles Woodson (1997) won the award.

One of three finalists for the Doak Walker Award, Corum is one of two players from the Big Ten. Chase Brown from Illinois and Texas’ Bijan Robinson are the other two finalists. Chris Perry is the only Michigan player to win the award which came in 2003.

Corum becomes Michigan’s first-ever Amech-Dayne Running Back of the Year award winner which started in 2011.

Rushing for 1,463 yards, which is eighth in the NCAA, he is third in the nation with 19 total touchdowns. He has collected 100 yards rushing and one rushing touchdown for eight consecutive Big Ten games which is the longest streak for Michigan in the last 25 years.

For only the fourth time in program history, Michigan is 12-0 and will play Purdue for the Big Ten Championship on Saturday in Indianapolis, Ind.
