ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The winningest volleyball coach in school history, Mark Rosen, for the University of Michigan will not be coming back for his 25th year in 2023. University of Michigan’s Donald R. Shepherd Director of Athletics Warde Manuel announced on Tuesday that he was making a change in leadership for the program.

“Following a thorough review of the program, I have decided that Mark Rosen will not return as our volleyball coach. I want to thank Mark for his 24 years of dedication to the program and to his student-athletes. I wish him success in the future,” said Manuel.

Rosen departs Michigan after 24 years with a 468-299 (.610) record with 66 wins against top-25 opponents. The Wolverines went to the NCAA Tournament 19 times making it to the Final Four in 2012. He has won 677 games in 31 seasons for four schools.

“I appreciate the opportunity of coaching at the University of Michigan for the past 24 years. It has been a rewarding experience in every way and I’m thankful for all the people who have made it so special. The opportunity to work with phenomenal student-athletes, and alongside such great coaches, has been a daily blessing. I want to thank everyone I’ve met and worked with  along the way for them sharing in my experience,” said Rosen. “Most of all, I want to thank Leisa and our two sons for being patient as they found themselves along on this journey. I’m forever grateful, Go Blue.”

Michigan completed the 2022 season at 17-13 and was 8-12 in the Big Ten.
