DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Now 7-7 on the year and winning three straight games, the Detroit Lions were 12th this week in the ESPN Weekly Power Rankings. They are up five places from 17 the week before and they feature linebacker James Houston.

The ESPN rankings say of Houston that he is ‘living up to the name…has been wreaking havoc over the past four weeks…registering five sacks over four games.’ Houston was elevated from the practice squad to the team just before Thanksgiving and becomes just the third player to record five sacks in his first four career games since sacks became official in 1982. He joins Terrell Suggs in 2003 and Santana Dotson in 1992.

Tight End Brock Wright says, “I think we all believe in ourselves, believe in each other. We have been fighting here this whole season and we believe we can win these games in these critical situations like that and we were able to do that on Sunday.”

“I believe in confidence,” said Amon-Ra St. Brown. “That’s one of the biggest things in this game is confidence and momentum is huge, also in this league, and we have momentum right now. And we have confidence and when you play with that, I think anything’s possible, and we know that as a team.”
