HOLLAND, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – On a 25-game win streak and now 9-0 on the year, reigning NCAA Division III women’s basketball national champion Hope College remains as the no. 1 team in the nation in the latest D3hoops.com poll. Hope is coming off a 98-42 thumping of Kalamazoo College on Saturday.
Hope has won 84 out of their last 85 games with their only loss last year in the middle of the season to Trine University, 70-62. They had two more rematches after that with one in the MIAA Championship game winning, 54-50, and then in the Final Four taking a 57-52 win advancing to the national championship. These two teams will square off on December 17 as Trine comes to the DeVos Fieldhouse in Holland, Mich.

In 2019-20, Hope was on track to win the national championship as they were 29-0 when CoVID-19 hit and cancelled the rest of the post season. They played a shortened 2020-21 season going 16-0 and were ranked no. 1 in the nation. Last year, they went 32-1 and claimed the elite National Championship with a 71-58 win over Wisconsin-Whitewater.
At 9-0, Hope knows what they can do after the winning the championship last year.
