GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – In the latest USCHO (United States College Hockey Organization) national poll, four Michigan colleges are ranked. Michigan, Michigan State, Western Michigan, and Michigan Tech are all in the top 20.

Michigan leads that way in the top 10 at seventh at 12-7-1 with 713 points. They moved up four spots from 11th in the last poll. Michigan State is 11th with 455 points at 12-7-1 and jumped on spot from 12th.

Rounding out the top 20 is Michigan Tech (10-4-3) at 17th with 202 points up from being in 18th and Western Michigan in 18th with 143 points at 10-9-1.

UM and MSU have split their series this year on Dec. 9 and 10 as the Wolverines lost game one, 2-1, but then won the second game, 2-1. Michigan swept Western Michigan earlier in the year, 5-4, and 6-5 in overtime. Michigan State has split all two of their three series against nationally ranked teams in Penn State and Michigan and dropped both to Penn State.

WMU split with then #12 Notre Dame losing game one, 2-0, but won the following game, 4-0. They also split with #4 St. Cloud State, winning game one, 4-2, but dropping the next, 4-1.

Michigan Tech and WMU will square off on December 27 at the Great Lakes Invitational in Grand Rapids, Mich.
