WASHINGTON (Michigan News Source) – President Joe Biden plans to sign the “Respect for Marriage Act” into law on Tuesday afternoon. Among his guests is Marti G. Cummings, a self-described “non-binary” man who dresses in drag and holds “drag queen story hours” for children.

Cummings, whose Twitter account is private, posted a viral video in 2019 which shows him in full drag sitting cross-legged on a bar singing “Baby Shark” to a 2-year-old child, according to the Daily Signal.

After the event, Cummings tweeted, “Anyone who thinks drag isn’t for children is wrong. Drag is expression, and children are such judgment-free beings; they don’t really care what you’re wearing, just what you’re performing.”

President Joe Biden announced the signing on Twitter, one week after it passed both chambers.

The Respect for Marriage Act codifies same-sex and interracial marriage. It repeals the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act which federally defined marriage as the union between one man and one woman.

On Monday, White House Press Secretary Karinne Jean-Pierre said the “Respect for Marriage Act” signing would be marked with “musical guests and performances.”

Meanwhile, Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow joined the proverbial party.

The president plans to sign the law around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
