DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Wayne State University has placed its athletic director on leave.
Rob Fournier has served in the role since September 2000. The department did not release a reason for the leave.

Athletic Department chief of staff Erika Wallace will take over the role for the time being. The department issued an email and said employees should not contact Fournier.
A reason for the leave has not been released.
In Fournier’s tenure, Wayne State teams have won 41 conference championships, 17 conference tournament championships, and 51 conference coach-of-the-year honors.
