DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – A six-goal third period by the New York Rangers broke open a 2-2 tie as Detroit lost for the second game in a row. All six goals came in a 10-minute period from 6:02 to 16:31. The first three all came within three minutes of each other. Six different Rangers scored in that time.

In the first period, Mika Zibanejad scored at 15:40 but then Joe Veleno tied it at 18:46 on an assist from Jonatan Berggren and Olli Maatta. Detroit then took the lead, 2-1, in the second period at 7:33 when Lucas Raymond for the net. A little over three minutes later (10:59), NY’s Chris Kreider tied it at two. The third period belonged to the Rangers as they ran away with the win.

Ville Husso recorded 25 saves in goal. Detroit is now 7-4-3 overall.
