DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – A slow start in the first quarter led to a 128-112 loss to Boston on the road in The Garden. Six players, finished in double figures as the offense improved throughout the game. Jaden Ivey led the team with 19 points as Saddiq Bey added 18 points and Bojan Bogdanoic 17 points. Killan Hayes finished with 16 points while Isaiah Stewart finished with 12 points and Jalen Duran 10 points. Stewart, Ivey, and Duren all had double-doubles.

Missing 19 of their first 21 shots to start the game and scoring their first four points on free throws, Detroit was down 28-21 at the end of the first quarter. Detroit missed six straight shots before making their first from the floor at the 8:26 mark to trail, 12-6. Boston made it 21-9 with 4:47 left but over the next four minutes, Detroit made a 8-2 run to cut the lead to six, 23-17, before Boston took a 29-21 lead after the first.

Detroit pulled to within three in the second quarter, 34-31, on an Ivey three-pointer. With 5:12 left, it was still a three-point lead, 42-39, on a Bey layup but Boston put an end to that quickly. Boston outscored Detroit, 21-10, in the last five minutes for a 63-49 lead at the half.

The second half was a little closer in each quarter, 32-30, in the third in favor of Boston and then they both scored 33 in the fourth. Detroit could not get it under double digits as they fell, 128-112.
