OXFORD, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Students and faculty of Oxford High School, along with the community, continue to recover from last November’s school shooting which claimed the lives of four people and injured seven others.

Now, the next phase of their recovery is climbing up into their laps through a three-year therapy facility dog program.

School officials said it will be called “Oxford Wildcat Pack.”

Research has shown that providing therapy dogs in an educational environment can support students’ social-emotional learning, improve school attendance, increase self-confidence, and help students build better relationship skills with peers and adults.
