EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan State University Vice President & Director of Athletics Alan Haller and head football coach Mel Tucker released a statement on Tuesday. In the statement, they say they have suspended Malcolm Jones, Justin White, Jacoby Windmon, and Brandon Wright.

The MSU latest statement says:

Michigan State University athletics and the football program are committed to the highest level of sportsmanship. As we continue to gather and review electronic evidence of the altercations between Michigan State and University of Michigan student-athletes on October 29, 2022, we are suspending student-athletes Malcom Jones, Justin White, Jacoby Windmon, and Brandon Wright. The suspensions are effective immediately.

We are transparently working with the law enforcement and the Big Ten Conference to evaluate additional facts and evidence surrounding the events in Ann Arbor. We will continue to take appropriate action in this matter as we learn more. The student-athlete suspensions will remain in place until the investigations are completed.

The health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, personnel, and the Spartan community is our number one priority.

Thank you for your continued collaboration and support as we move forward together.

Allan Haller – MSU VP and & Director of Athletics

Mel Tucker – Head football Coach

Windmon, the defensive standout for the Spartans, was asked in the postgame press conference if he saw the scuffle and he mumbled, “uh uh” shaking his head no. But, he has now been suspended for being a part of the scuffle. In the ESPN post game tunnel video released you can see Windmon putting on his helmet first and then throwing a right hook and then a left hand punch to the Michigan player. So, did he lie to the media when the question was asked to him or was he just not answering to make sure he didn’t say anything about it. It is clear though that he shook his head no when he asked if he saw the scuffle.
