LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is on the campaign trail trying to earn a second term in office.
Over the weekend, Whitmer traveled to the Detroit area and told a crowd, “This is a high-stakes fight. This is a high-stakes election. I will stay in this arena. I’ll take all the stuff they throw my way. (If) they knock me down, I’ll jump right back on my feet,” Whitmer said.

Although Whitmer has not penned an op-ed like GOP challenger Tudor Dixon did over the weekend, she has appeared to be “fighting like hell” on social media and in television interviews to show why she’s the best candidate.
Whitmer, who voiced that the election would be decided by Oakland County, repeated similar phrases used in the two gubernatorial debates. “I’m looking to find common ground with people (to) continue to pushing Michigan forward, not to throw gas on the fire and create problems,” Whitmer said. “I want to solve problems.”

Later on Monday, former NBA basketball player and MSU alum Magic Johnson will stump for Whitmer in East Lansing.
Polls are open on Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
