DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Five second half turnovers by Detroit led to Dallas running away with the game over Detroit, 24-6. Three of the Detroit turnovers turned into touchdowns for Dallas as they routed Detroit scoring 21 points. At the half, Detroit held a 6-3 advantage as they were playing a strong game. Jared Goff had two interceptions as the team added three fumbles.

A big turning point in the game came right at the beginning of the fourth quarter. With Detroit up, 6-3, they were charging to take a 12-3 lead but Jamaal Williams fumbled on the one-yard line going into the end zone. Detroit’s defense did stop Dallas in four plays forcing a punt. Four plays later, Goff threw his first interception at the Dallas 46-yard line. The Cowboys went 54 yards in 11 plays to turn the momentum and take the lead, 10-6.

Dallas then scored on two other possessions off of Jared Goff fumbles after being sacked to make it 24-6. Overall, Goff had four of the five Detroit turnovers in the fourth quarter.

Detroit finished with 312 yards of total offense as Jamaal Williams led with 79 yards rushing. Kalif Raymond finished with 75 yards receiving as Goff threw for 228 yards.

The defense played solid for most of the game holding up the offense until the fourth quarter. Jeff Okudah finished with 15 tackles and a tackle for loss. Aidan Hutchinson recorded his fourth and fifth sack of the year and finished with three tackles.

Head coach Dan Campbell says, “We knew what we had to do, We had to play a little ground and pound. We had some good looks. We turned the ball over. We were playing the game the way we needed to. It just got out of hand.”
