LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Both Michigan and Michigan State received their 2023 Big Ten football schedules that include three non-conference games. Both teams start the season playing non-conference foes before the Big Ten season starts on September 23, 2023.

Michigan opens up their 2023 season with four straight home games against East Carolina (Sept. 2), UNLV (Sept. 9), Bowling Green State (Sept. 16), and opens Big Ten play against Rutgers (Sept. 23). They will then hit the road two weeks in a row traveling to Nebraska (Sept. 30) and then Minnesota (Oct. 7). The fifth home game of seven games will be against Indiana on October 14 with the in-state rival game at Michigan State on Oct. 21. After a week off, Michigan starts November hosting Purdue on Nov. 4 then goes on the road for two weeks to Penn State (Nov. 11) and Maryland (Nov. 18). The regular season ends with “The Game” on Nov. 25 in Ann Arbor against Ohio State.

The 2023 season opens for Michigan State with four straight home games, too. They host Central Michigan on Sept. 2 followed by a game vs. Richmond on Sept. 9. The Pac 12-Big Ten rematch from the 2022 season on the West Coast moves to East Lansing as the Spartans will host Washington on Sept. 16. The Big Ten season starts on Sept. 23 as they host Maryland. Two straight weeks on the road follow as they head to Iowa (Sept. 30) and then Rutgers on Oct. 14 after a bye week on Oct. 7. The seventh game of the season is the in-state rivalry as MSU hosts Michigan. On Oct. 28, a trip to Minnesota takes place. November begins with hosting Nebraska, two road games to Ohio State (Nov. 11) and Indiana (Nov. 18) and finishes with Penn State on Nov. 25 in East Lansing.

The Big Ten Championship game is Dec. 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.
