DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Seattle scored three runs in the final three innings coming from behind for a 5-3 victory over Detroit. The game was tied at two after two innings but Detroit took the lead in the sixth for a one-run advantage, 3-2. That lead only lasted half an inning as Seattle scored two in the top of the seventh and then one in the ninth making it 5-3.

Eric Haase and Jeimer Candelario led the team with two hits each. Candelario followed with two RBI while Willi Castro recorded a RBI. Alex Lange worked just one inning but took the loss giving up the go ahead two runs. Tyler Alexander started the game going 4.2 innings with four strikeouts and two earned runs.

Alexander gave up two runs in the first inning as Seattle posted a two-run home run. In the bottom of the second inning, Candelario singled in Haase to cut the lead to one. Castro then grounded out that allowed Kerry Carpenter to score. Candelario then gave Detroit the lead in the sixth inning on a single center field as Haase scored again.

Lange came in to start the seventh inning getting the first batter to line out. That followed with a triple and home run that put Seattle up for good, 4-3. He followed with a ground out and strikeout to end the inning but the damage was already done.

In the ninth, Gregory Soto was the relief pitcher and walked in a run giving Seattle the two-run lead, 5-3.
