DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Baltimore’s Jordan Lyles pitched a complete game outing only allowing one run as the Orioles took the final game of the series over Detroit, 8-1. Lyles struck out seven batters allowing just three hits and one earned run for his 11th win of the year.

Kerry Caprenter was 2-of-3 with the lone RBI in the game. Harold Castro had the other hit.

It was the third inning where Baltimore picked up three runs off of Detroit starter Matt Manning. He then allowed two more runs in the sixth inning before being relieved. He went 5.1 innings for his second loss of the year giving up five runs (three earned) with four strikeouts.

Detroit’s lone run came off of Carpenter’s sixth home run of the year in the seventh inning making it 5-1.

The Tigers are off on Thursday before a three-game series with the Chicago White Sox starts on Friday in Chicago.
