EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Transfer senior Jacoby Windmon had a night in his first game wearing green and white producing seven tackles. What is impressive is of the seven tackles, four were sacks for 17 yards with one forced fumble. With those numbers, he was named the Walter Camp Football Foundation National Defensive Player of the Week.

Windmon transferred to MSU in January 2022 from UNLV where he had 169 career tackles, 18.5 tackle for losses, and 12 sacks. He was a two-time All-Moutain West selection earning second team and honorable mention.

MSU held off Western Michigan, 35-13, in the season opener as the defense generated seven sacks and 11 tackles for loss.
