The BINC recently underwent exciting initiatives and facility updates that significantly enhance the guest experience, connect individuals with wildlife in the spaces they share and ensure the welfare of resident animals according to the BINC website.
Among the renovations are the entrance lobby, young learner space, sewer tunnel walk-through, mudpuppy habitat, expanded pollinators area, and a frog and toad crawl-through space. New additions include a Bird Viewing Bay, new habitats to see frogs, salamanders, and snakes.
“We are so proud of this new facility, and after more than two years of being closed, we are ready to show everyone what we have been working on,” said Amy Greene, nature centers director for the Detroit Zoological Society. “We have so many new and exciting features for guests to explore.”
Admission to the nature center is free to the public, and the BINC website includes numerous further educational opportunities and events offered at the center.
The BINC is located at the northern tip of the Belle Isle State Park and remains open from 10 am until 5 pm everyday.
