LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – On Friday afternoon, GOP gubernatorial nominee Tudor Dixon announced that she had selected Shane Hernandez as her running mate.

Who is Shane Hernandez?

Republican Shane Hernandez is 39-years-old. He grew up in Croswell and now lives in Port Huron with wife, Renee, and two daughters, Kelsey and Kara.
Hernandez attended Croswell-Lexington High School and Lawrence Technological University in Southfield where he received a master’s degree in architecture.
What is his career and political experience?
Hernandez was elected in 2016 to represent District 83 in Lansing and served the district through January 1, 2021. He was chairman of the House Appropriations Committee and House Fiscal Governing Committee. While serving as a member on the House Legislative Council Committee, he was also a member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Joint Capitol Outlay.
His LinkedIn profile shows that Hernandez has been Project Manager at Nicholas Sears Construction in Port Huron since June of 2022 and is also the business owner of Hernandez Design Studio, LLC as well as Carr and Hernandez Properties LLC.

Hernandez is a conservative Republican who believes in limited government, fiscal responsibility and individual liberties. He says those liberties begin at conception with the right to life.
