DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – For the second day in a row the Detroit Tigers came away with win over the Los Angeles Angels, 4-0. Not only was it a win, but for the second game the pitching staff came through providing the victory. Five pitchers combined for the shutout win as Eduardo Rodriguez went five innings with five strikeouts for his fifth win of the year.

“It’s nice early to get the lead against a really good pitcher and it calms the unknown of are we going to be able to put multiple at-bats against their pitcher at a time. I thought our bats today were arguably as good as they have been in a lot of series. This was a really good team effort,” says manager A.J. Hinch.

Foley allowed just one hit in the seventh inning with a strikeout setting up Chafin for the eighth inning. One hit came under Chafin’s watch but he recorded two ground outs and a strikeout. Soto finished out the ninth after a single with a strikeout and double play closing out the win.
