Riley Greene, Kody Clemens, and Reyes led the team with two hits each. Willi Castro, Candelario, Jonathan Schoop, and Reyes all produced one RBI.

The Angels took an early 2-0 lead scoring one run in the first and second inning. Detroit tied the game with two runs in the second inning. Schoop doubled in Harold Castro and then Castro walked with the bases loaded and two outs tying the game.

Los Angeles went up, 3-2, in the top of the third but Candelario answered with a sacrifice fly as Eric Haase was the tying run. Reyes was then the hero in the fifth with his single to center field scoring Reyes for the 4-3 lead.

Soto came in for the save in the top of the ninth and did his job. The first batter popped out but then a walk put the tying run on base. The Angels then hit into a double play to end the threat as Detroit evened the series at one game each.

The final game of the series is at 1:40 p.m. on Sunday.
