GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A pair of Michigan golfers represented amazingly at the inaugural U.S. Adaptive Open.

Kim Moore made history winning the very first U-S Adaptive Open at Pinehurst by eight shots on Wednesday.

Moore was born without a right foot and a severely clubbed left foot and spina bifida.

Moore is the women’s golf coach at Western Michigan University.

Her name will now sit in the USGA Library’s Hall of Champions with the likes of Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.

15-year-old Sophia Howard of Hudsonville, the youngest player in the field, finished second overall in the arm impairment class.
