DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – On July 19, the Detroit Tigers will have two players in the MLB All-Star game – Miguel Cabrera and Gregory Soto. Cabrera makes his 12th appearance in an All-Star game and was a legacy selection by Commissioner Rob Manfred as the 33rd player for the American League.
Soto is the first Tigers’ player since 2016 to make back-to-back appearances.

Soto says through an interpreter, “It’s very exciting. Very exciting for me, for my family. I’m really excited for being there and performing for myself, my family and also my team.”
Cabrera is currently hitting .280 with three home runs and 34 RBI. Soto has a 2.59 ERA with 18 saves. The All-Star game will take place at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif., at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time on July 19.
