Canton, MI native, former Michigan Stater, and current U.S. Amateur champion James Piot shot a 1-under par 69 yesterday in Round 1 of the U.S. Open golf championship in Brookline, MA. Piot sits three shots behind leader Adam Hadwin of Canada after 18 holes.
Veteran PGA Tour pro, Napoleon, MI native, and former Oakland University golfer Brian Stuard shot a 3-over 73 to sit seven shots behind Hadwin after the first round. Both Piot and Stuard will look to make the 36 hole cut today (Top 60 players and ties) when Round 2 starts this morning.
