The other Michigan native in the 156-player field this week is veteran PGA Tour pro Brian Stuard. Stuard was born in Jackson, but attended Napoleon HS and played his college golf at Oakland University in suburban Detroit. He qualified for the U.S. Open by winning medalist honors at the Springfield, Ohio sectional qualifier earlier this month. He tees off this afternoon at 12:41 with American Nick Hardy and veteran European pro Thorbjorn Oleson.
