LANSING, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – Michigan hunters who’ve had success in the field but face limited freezer space can donate meat to help needy families.

Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger is once again working with the Michigan DNR and local vendors to ensure venison donations make it to food banks across the state.
In 2020, hunters donated a record-setting 85,514 pounds of venison to the program.
That’s nearly double the amount donated in 2019, which marked a record-setting year as well.
